IMPORTANT:  If you suspect an electric vehicle fire, call 9-1-1. The Fire Cloak USA should only be used by trained first responders with the proper PPE.

Step 1: Position the Fire Cloak USA EV fire blanket centrally in front of the vehicle.

Step 2: Make sure that the Fire Cloak is unfolded and centered fully in front of the electric vehicle.

Step 3: Take hold of the red straps and pull the Fire Cloak over the vehicle making sure to cover the whole vehicle.

Step 4: Once the electric vehicle is fully covered with the Fire Cloak, ensure it is tucked in at either side by pressing down on it with your feet.

Step 5: Immediately retreat to a safe distance – at least 30 Feet – and leave the Fire Cloak USA in place until the fire service are on scene

Step 6: Check that the temperature of the vehicle has cooled down to below 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Water can be sprayed over the blanket to assist with cooling the vehicle down quicker. Once the vehicle has cooled, remove the blanket, and use traditional methods to extinguish any flames that may reignite.

Designed to be always accessible and easy to deploy, the Fire Cloak Electric Vehicle Fire Blanket is specifically intended to starve any potential EV fire of oxygen and mitigate damage to the immediate vicinity. It is NOT a method of extinguishing an EV fire; that is a job for professional firefighters only.

Because thermal runaway lithium battery fires are self-sustaining and require little or no oxygen to propagate, the blanket will act as a barrier in preventing the spread of fire and limit the escape of smoke and fumes.
